How we get angry
It's very important to understand how and why we get angry, this makes preventing it from happening in the future much easier...
So how do we get angry?...
Everybody has an anger trigger, or in other words, things that happen that sends us over the edge. Triggers are different for different people, and some people have way more triggers then others, it goes without saying that this type of person will probably be more angry throughout life then most.
So, what happens for anger to be triggered?...
Anger is triggered by what we perceive to be an injustice. It's important to note that these injustices are our own believes of what constitutes an injustice and not necessarily fact.
An injustice could be anything, for example, someone stepping on your foot, someone being rude to you, your partner having an affair, etc. Think back to a time when you were angry, what was the injustice that triggered it?...
Being able to identify the triggers is a vital self help anger management step. Have a little think about things that have triggered your anger in the past.

Discredit the injustice
Once you identify the injustice, your next step is to try and discredit it and/or 'pin it' on yourself, but within reason. I'll give you a simple example, suppose you leave money lying around someone that you don't trust, and they steal it. You are absolutely livid about it. Let me demonstrate how you could have avoided becoming angry...
So, let's find the injustice first. The injustice is obviously that the person stole money from you. But how do we discredit the injustice and/or pin it upon ourselves? Well, remember we didn't trust the person in the first place, so that makes you a little silly to leave money around them, so I guess it's your own fault, right?...
Now accept the responsibility for it and grow from the experience. It's as simple as that...
When you pin the blame on yourself, it's important NOT to become overly angry with yourself as that defeats the purpose, instead always grow from it. A valuable side effect of this is that you begin to embrace these situations that before would have infuriated you...
Many times you may not be able to pin the injustice onto yourself, in that case, do it anyway! A true leader will always accept responsibility, even it's not their fault - I recommend you do the same.
Please note, sometimes anger is justified and is a good thing. For example, to create change, you need to be really angry about whatever it is you want to change first, or else you might not see it through.
