Is positive thinking simply mumbo jumbo? or does it actually work?...

People that use and respect the power of thinking positively will probably be familiar with this question...

"Is your glass half empty or half full?"...

This might seem like a silly question and you might have even heard it before. Yet, this question does point a very large arrow towards how you will generally approach life...

Do you expect the best or worst out of life?

Consider for a moment that obviously positive thinking will lead to positive thoughts. So, here's the million dollar question...

Is positive thinking, by itself, simply mumbo jumbo?...

The answer to this question depends on whether your glass is half empty or half full!...

Seriously though, our mentality or values will always express our general disposition at any given time.

Thinking positively definitely helps us in our task of creating a better life for ourselves, but obviously in the right context. So for example, don't jump of a 30-storey building purely becuase you've been thinking positively about landing safely! The point is this...

There should always be some kind of substance behind any type of positive thinking.

The Law of Attraction

Positive thoughts will lead to positive actions taking place around us. Metaphysical teachers and quantum physicists might be a universe apart from each other concerning many points, but they do agree on one central issue. We are all engaging and creating our own reality, at every moment in time.

The Law of Attraction is a very powerful force in the universe that is working for everyone 24/7. This law says, "Like, attracts like". It's like a mirror that keeps giving back to us the things we focus our minds on. If you see the world around you as a painful place to live, then guess what?...

Your life will mirror this and you won't be able to help but be living this out in some real way. Remember, "like, attracts like." Thinking positively is the flip side of this coin. This is why people that are positive are more upbeat and seem to be happier, why? Because generally they are happier.

Gratitude and happiness!

Of course, there are real disasters that happen in the world we live in. Yet, even in times of economic disaster (or any type of disaster for that matter), we can choose to look at the positive things we DO have in our life's and be grateful for them.

Happy people seem to have more vital energy in and around them. They attract others to them, because they shine so bright. Positive thinking people are happy because they chose to look at the sunnier side of life. They have faith in themselves and the world around them and they believe that all is going to be well.

Let's put it into perspective

Some of us will confuse thinking positively with 'magical' thinking. That old adage that, "anything is possible", might have some truth to it. Yet, if you interpret this to mean you can fly...

Don't jump out of a high window. You might break a leg or worse. :-(

It's not a positive thought to believe you can jump out of a 26 story window and fly. I'm don't even think you could call that wishful thinking, temporary insanity maybe! The point is...

Don't confuse positive thinking with 'magical thinking'.

Moving Forward...

Positive thoughts are almost always grounded in gratitude. If you want to climb out of your negative thinking, start being grateful for what you have and don't focus on the things you don't have. This becomes infectious and viral...

You'll find yourself being a happy faced person and very grateful for having a life you love. So, let me ask you a question...

If positive thinking leads to living and appreciating a good life, then is this all just a load of mumbo jumbo?...
