Motivate yourself by doing the things that motivate you most!... |
Isn't it SO difficult to get
motivated, even for the
smallest of things, but worse, is when it's for something
that we know we have
to do...
I know you've been here before, right? Maybe you had to motivate yourself to read this article...
I've already written an article about procrastination, and how it can ruin your life, and certainly, your DREAM life! So, let's put a stop to all that, and learn the crucial art of quick and effective motivation...
So, how do you do that?...
By using the knowledge you probably already have, to motivate yourself, yourself...
Don't get all Emotional on me!
Emotions, and mastering them, should be your key focus if you want to successfully motivate yourself. Good emotional intelligence can make all the difference when attempting to motivate yourself...
If you've read my emotional intelligence article, (if you haven't, please do so now) then you'll know that some emotions can be very harmful to you, especially, if you don't know what to do with them. On the flip side...
Some emotions can be your best friend, certainly if you are planning on motivating yourself. A good example of this, is excitement. When you're excited about doing something, you'll naturally just do it, and the more excited you are, the more intensity you'll put into whatever it is you are doing...
So, excitement is a 'friendly' emotion that makes it much easier to motivate yourself. There are plenty of 'friendly' emotions that you can use to motivate yourself, quickly and easily...
Anything I can do, YOU can do better!
Don't think this is just a pep talk, because it's NOT! Motivating yourself can be simple, and it's very much doable, I promise you! And YES, I know it's much easier to just hire a MR/MRS Motivator to do it for you. But what about when you're on your own?...
Basically speaking, if somebody else can motivate you, then YOU can motivate yourself. So really, you don't need anybody else to do it for you, and I can tell you this...
If you have any interest in living your DREAM Life!, you MUST learn how to motivate yourself...
How did you do that?
So, you've been motivated before, right?...
So how do you motivate yourself again in the future?...
Motivate yourself by doing the things that motivate you most!...
And YES, I'm dead serious. Let me explain...
If you've been motivated in the past, it didn't just happen by chance, far from it, instead there was a psychological reason for it. It goes without saying, if you can replicate that 'psychological thing' in the future, you'll easily be able to motivate yourself, at will.
So first, remember the emotions you felt when you motivated. It's not important to know exactly what emotion it was, just remember what it felt like. Now ask yourself, what happened to make you feel that way...
You may need to spend sometime on this, but it'll be more than worth it in the end, TRUST ME! It might also help to remember the emotions you felt when you didn't feel motivated, and ask yourself what caused you to feel that way, and obviously avoid doing ths same in the future...
As long as you know how to replicate those 'friendly' emotions, you'll never ever have a problem in the future, when you have to motivate yourself.

Having clarity in any given situation has a major impact on, not only confidence, but also motivation. Remember, excitement is an emotion that instantaneously motivates you. When you have a clearly defined goal(s) and clarity of how to achieve it/them, the result is excitement.

Good...
Sometimes, all the above isn't enough to sustain your focus, and when you lose focus, your motivation is affected, even if you were motivated before. This all boils down to self discipline and your self talk.
Be careful with the Pause Button
One of the worst things you can do when you are motivated and have momentum, is interrupt that momentum. Why?...
Well, you know how we pick up bad habits throughout life? and how they are so difficult to get rid of? Well, habits are created through repetition, good and bad habits. So guess what happens if you persistantly interrupt your momentum?...
Yep, you guessed it, it becomes a habit and you lose focus. This just creates another problem for you to have to try and solve. So, always keep the momentum going and make a habit of it, and don't break the habit because that then becomes a habit.
Moving Forward...
If you've been motivated in the past, you can motivate yourself again in the future. The key is to remember what it was that motivated you, or in other words, what it was that made you feel the 'friendly' motivational emotions, then replicate it.
