4 choices for coping with stress, but what are they and what's the best one? |
I put this down to 1 thing, but I'll tell you more about that later.
Basically, if you have a stressful lifestyle, you have 4 general options for coping with it. Though I say options, 2 of them should be avoided like the plague. If I'm being really honest with you, everybody who wants to learn about coping with stress, should really first and foremost, concern themselves with 1 option in particular...
This option will help you avoid stress altogether, which is much better then just coping with it. So, without further ado, allow me to introduce you to option 1...
Option 1: Put up and shut up!
Really, this shouldn't be classed as an option I
guess, because it is so harmful
to you, both short-term and
long-term.Getting stressed and wallowing in it, is harmful to your health. Trust me, I know this first hand. You see, I suffer from Multiple Sclerosis, and everytime I get stressed (any kind), I have a relapse and can be bedridden for as long as 2 months. I even feel that stress brought on the illness in the first place...
Anyway, enough about me...
The point is, when you are constantly exposed to stress, your chances of making yourself ill, sky rockets. So what ever you do, PLEASE don't pick option 1 for coping with stress. Hopefully, that's a no brainer to you, that's why you're here listening to me, right?...

If you're feeling stressed, always remember to put things into perspective. So for example, ask yourself "Is the reason why I'm feeling stressed more important then me jeopardizing my health? because that's what I'll being doing if I allow myself to get stressed!"

Option 2: Medication
Usually in the form of antidepressants,
and will more
than likely result from following option 1 - Now do you see why option
1 is a major
NO-NO?...I'm not saying that drugs are a bad thing, but are they a good thing? You might become reliant on them, and worse still, continue to allow yourself to get stressed, 'safe' in the knowledge that "the drugs will make you better!"...
Prevention is better than the cure, and besides, do you want to rely on drugs for your wellbeing, and maybe for the rest of your life?...
I'll leave you to answer that one for yourself!

Option 3: Keep your head above water!
Finding ways of coping with
stress, or
just dealing
with it, I suppose isn't
the worst thing in the world.
There are loads of ways you can do this effectively that hopefully
won't
result in you becoming unwell...Things like, relaxation techniques for instance, can be very effective for some people. However, as I said earlier, prevention is WAY better than the cure...

Option 4: Strengthen your Foundations
Yes, I'm talking

important! If you've read through this website, then you
might be sick
of hearing me talk about it, but bear with me. Trust me, solid
foundations is the first
ingredient to guaranteeing
your DREAM
life!...Anyway, the point is, if you want to avoid getting stressed in the first place, then recognise that this is done by having strong life values (Foundations). Basically, with good, strong, values, you're much less likely to get stressed out, because you will naturally put things into perspective...

It's simple, stress is a choice, so don't choose to be stressed. It may sound impossible now, but when you build rock solid foundations, then you'll find it seems a lot easier.
